Home Repair Statistics

Are you a home owner? Do you find it difficult with the upkeep of owning a home? First time home buyer?

If can all be a bit overwhelming at first. I would say the single most important thing you can do for your budget is prepare for the unknown. Home repairs will eat up your savings budget in no time. You should at least have 3 months of living expenses in savings but 6 months would be more ideal.

You just never know when you will be required to fix something as simple as a leaky toilet or something much more expensive like your air conditioner.  Don’t become a statistic.  Create a plan and stick to it.

More importantly, don’t put off home repairs.  They can lead to more expensive repairs if you don’t fix it soon.  If you don’t know where to begin when you have a home repair, start by asking your friends.  Next, research to see if it could be a do it yourself type project.  It’s amazing the DIY Tutorials you can find on the internet now a days.
